Jesse Sykes & the Sweet Hereafter,
Marble Son

Song of the Day

And, those heavenly creatures
They call out
“We are too young to be troubled by this doubt”

Do you understand your heart now
Really understand your heart
It’s a rare, rare kind
That isn’t troubled by his own mind
A rare, rare kind

And, those heavenly creatures
They call out
“We are too young to be troubled by this doubt”
“We are too young to be troubled by this doubt”

Your Own Kind by Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter

So there I was last night watching Jeremy Renner in Twelve and Holding and this really beautiful song was being played so thanks to the wonder of IMDB I found out it was by Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter. Two minutes later I have their Reckless Burning album download, five minutes later their 2011 record Marble Son.

24 hours later I am completely and utterly obsessed with this singer-songwriter. I find it fairly difficult to get into new music as I am pretty fussy but when I do find something that I can connect with I fall so damn hard.

Wild Flag - Wild Flag

Bonus Album of the year

Everything you know so well / Is bound by hushed devotion / And in the shapes we used to be / I remember asking / Why mirror all that moves / To be soothe, yet still be lacking

Added very last minute as in the 29th December 2011 I want to make Marble Son by Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter my 11th choice because it is completely and utterly taking over my mind and soul and will continue to in the final days of 2011.
