Titus Welliver and Mark Pellegrino
As if being amazing as the MIB and Jacob wasn’t enough Titus and Marksha then preceeded to bring much joy to the Lost fandom with the Totally Lost videos for EW. I only wish they had some screen time together in Supernatural as War and Lucifer then my life would have been complete but then the world may have exploded with awesome.
Amy Poehler
Amy is a comic goddess, and Parks and Recreation should never end.
The Strokes
Also known as my favourite people ever. Despite still not releasing their fourth album this year the guys who have ruled my musical heart since 2001 did manage to actually get together, record some songs and play some damn amazing shows.
If one was to compare their comeback to a scene in a TV show it would be a bit like the Doctor’s epic Stonehenge speech in The Pandorica Opens - you know when he is talking to the Daleks/Cybermen/every villain ever. Its like The Strokes came back and went “WORLD, YOU MAY HAVE YOUR NEW BANDS, YOU MAY HAVE FORGOTTEN ABOUT US BUT LOOK, LOOK AT US, WE DON’T EVEN HAVE ANY WEAPONS A NEW RECORD BUT WE ARE HERE TO BLOW YOUR FUCKING MINDS. OH AND SOMETHING ELSE WE DON’T HAVE: ANYTHING TO LOSE!”
And blow our minds they did. It takes a speculator band to go away for 4 years and play a series of concerts without any new material and still still completely and utterly own the stage. That comeback gig at Dingwalls it wasn’t just about The Strokes reminding the world of their existence, no it was like they had to remind themselves of it.
2011 marks ten years of Is This It, ten years since they came and shaped modern guitar music. I really can’t wait for what they have to show us with the new album.
Charlie Brooker
His weekly Guardian column is the first thing I read when I get to work on a Monday morning, nothing like a bit of Ranty McRanty Charlie Brooker to start my week. Whether its his take on TV shows with You Have Been Watching or his highly accurate attack on the media with Newswipe, Charlie is not only incredibly hilarious but speaks exposes the mass hysteria of the media. Charlie Brooker for Prime Minister please.
Daniel Radcliffe
Ahh Dan one of my favourite British stars around, completely funny and adorable. I love how well he has coped with fame and the career choices he has made. Also his appearance on the Christmas QI episode last week was so much fun, this boy or should I say young man knows his random general knowledge. I look forward to more Dan fun next year with the release of the final Potter movie *sad face*
Nestor Carbonell
Nestor broke my heart as Richard Alpert in Lost and then made me swoon some more as Declan in Psych. I would love for him to get a show of his own because he can do both drama and comedy well and also seems like a genuinely lovely guy. The world needs more Nestor. Richard/Miles off Island spin off please?
20 Celebrities That Made My Year
Manic Street Preachers
The Manics continuing to rule my musical heart since time began. After the splendid Journal For Plague Lovers in 2009 the Welsh wonders dropped Postcards From A Young Man this autumn and once again proved they still have a lot of musical joy to bring to the world. Plus I love a good old Nicky Wire interview/rant.
20 Celebrities That Made My Year
Deborah Ann Woll
I’m all kinds of in love with Deborah. She is flawless and amazing in True Blood. I want her hair, her pale skin, gah just everything.
20 Celebrities That Made My Year
Danny Pudi
Having only discovered the joys of Community in the last couple of months Danny wasn’t even on my radar until recently but he is a very easy guy to fall in love with and his on screen chemistry with the rest of the cast especially Donald Glover as Troy makes him a joy to watch.
Yvonne Strahovski
Yvonne is a combination of extremely beautiful, nice, talented and completely badass in Chuck. I kind of wonder why she isn’t more well known, still the world’s loss is Chuck and its fanbase gain.
20 Celebrities That Made My Year (In no order) -
Chloe Moretz
Chloe is an incredibly gifted actress, she stole the show in Kick Ass as foul mouthed superheroine Hit Girl and she also was mesmerising in Let Me In) What I like about Chloe is she is so sure of herself in interviews and when she wants a role she goes for it. I really look forward to seeing her develop and the kind of films she picks next. I think its safe to say she won’t be some drug addict child star in the future, how about Oscar winner instead?
20 Celebrities That Made My Year (In no order)
Matt Smith
Simply magnificent as the latest incarnation of the Doctor, Matt had a lot to live up to and he really managed to exceed my expectations. On top of being brilliant as the iconic Time Lord he also comes across as a loveable kind of guy in behind the scenes footage and interviews. Matt deserves a long and big career but I hope we get a few more years with him travelling in the TARDIS and wearing bow ties. Well they are cool now.

Noomi Rapace
Noomi is simply amazing. Her performances in the the Millennium Trilogy films is beyond outstanding, she just absolutely captures the character Lisbeth Salander so perfectly its like Lisbeth has kicked her way out of Stieg Larsson’s books and found herself in the real world. I look forward to seeing Noomi in other roles including the Sherlock Holmes sequel next year.

Misha Collins
I mean how can you not love this man? He is a force of nature. Whether its running 83 KM in a day for charity, or phoning fans just because they tweeted him to. Misha is a bundle of surreal joy that has embraced the weird and wonderful power of celebrity for good (and also so he can take over the world).
