As Megaupload’s bated breath escaped between its lips, it tried to get up again. It was useless; with all its energy gone and its last effort for naught, there was nothing left for it to do but die. It could feel the cold blade of the Indictment foot patrol sunk deep into its belly.

The Internet held its friend’s hand as helpless tears flowed down. “I couldn’t come to your rescue,” sobbed the Internet; “it was a useless campaign—”

“No, my friend, you tried,” Megaupload said with increasing effort. “The journey was long, but it was good. I gave everything to everyone. My job is done.”

“But you made them wait—”

“Everyone.” And with its hand in its friends, it choked out a final, struggling noise, and closed its eyes for good.
