It seems that a lot of people who were fans of Battlestar Galactica haven’t given its prequel series much attention, I’ll admit at first I was a little underwhelmed by the prospect but 5 episodes in and I’ve come to realise Caprica is much more than just a history lesson, it’s a compelling piece of drama which could easily be watched as a companion piece to BSG or entirely on its own.
Caprica is has been unfairly touted as a soap opera it’s more like a Greek Tragedy, we all know that the eventual consequences of the characters actions will led to the first Cylon war and all the pain and misery that followed 50 years later but how we get there is oh so very intriguing.
I’m good right now, kinda wondering how the hell its March next week already, excited by Lost as per usual, wishing publishing on Tumblr could be a full time job because that would be fun and wanting winter to end because its rainy and horrible.
I’m tired of fandom negativity especially from people claiming to be fans of said fandom. Whether its people judging episodes based on a brief summary or declaring songs not written by their Lord & Master rubbish before they have even heard them properly. Its not only ridiculous it takes away the fundamental point of liking a show or an artist, to share the high that it brings you, the moment of hearing a beginning chords of a new song, or watching a climatic piece of drama.
I’m not saying nothing is above criticism, healthy debate is also part of being a fan but sometimes I get the impression people would rather declare something bad before hearing or seeing it rather than have a bit of optimism and faith that it could be good.
This is coming from me, a harsh realistic by nature.
